Summary

In this work researchers design plasmonic nanostructures that enable control over the spatial distribution of photo-generated carriers in MoS2/metal hybrid nanostructures. Surface potential maps, obtained by elvin probe force microscopy  (KPFM) on NX10 AFM in glovebox, suggested that the potential gradient led to a distinct spatial distribution of photo-generated charges in the MoS2 monolayer samples under illumination. The work sheds light on the further optimizing optoelectronic characteristics and improving the performance of MoS2-based plasmonic devices.
