Join us for a webinar to learn about one of the cutting-edge applications of nanoscientific research:

Nanostructured Polymers and Nanomaterials for Oil & Gas

Join us as we begin a new series of lectures featuring materials sciences expert Professor Rigoberto Advincula of Case Western Reserve University! With considerable expertise in the design, synthesis and characterization of new polymers and nanoscale materials, Prof. Advincula has designed a series of lectures in order to share the latest developments in nanomaterials research in a variety of applications and fields.

In this presentation, Prof. Advincula introduces us to the challenges of the oil and gas industry in terms of unconventionally gathered resources and the extreme conditions associated with them: shale gas extraction, deep sea high-pressure high-temperature (HPHT) wells, and high-brine conditions. All these stretch the limits of currently existing materials, driving the need to develop next-generation technologies.

Pre-requisite: Knowledge of oil field chemicals and rubber materials is preferred but not required.
