The Polymer Society of Korea
The Polymer Society of Korea (PSK) was founded on October 8, 1976, with an inaugural meeting held at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science (now KAIST), attended by 180 members. Dr. Jwa Kyung Sung was appointed as the first president.
Today, the society is comprised of four regional branches (Chungcheong, Daegu-Gyeongbuk, Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam, and Honam), along with nine committees and an executive board.
The society was established as a non-profit organization in accordance with laws governing public-interest corporations. Its mission is to contribute to the public good by promoting the advancement and dissemination of knowledge and technology in polymer-related fields such as chemistry, physics, biology, and engineering, and to support the growth of polymer science and industry.
