Our next entry in this series is focused on 3D printing and additive manufacturing. Popularly seen in the form of desktop printers were computer control used to form layers of material into an object, 3D printing is being touted as the beginning of what could be a potential industrial revolution. Efforts are underway around the world to improve the performance of various additive manufacturing techniques in applications from everything such as rapid prototyping, automotive manufacturing, and medical-grade implants for various surgical procedures.

Join us as Prof. Advincula surveys the field of 3D printing and additive manufacturing research and development and usher in next-generation technologies with them together with the latest in nanoscale characterization techniques.

About Prof. Rigoberto Advincula

Prof. Rigoberto Advincula, Director of the Petro Case Consortium, is recognized industry-wide as an expert regarding polymer and materials challenges of the oil-gas industry. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Macromolecular Science and Engineering at Case Western Reserve University and is the recipient of numerous awards including Fellow of the American Chemical Society, Herman Mark Scholar Award of the Polymer Division, and Humboldt Fellow.
