Job Description:

Park Systems manufactures and sells atomic force microscopes (AFM) to the universities, government labs, and industrial customers; AFM is typically used by physicists, material scientists, chemists, and biologists. This is a sales position for the US western region and Latin America. This is a customer facing position that will require face to face interaction as well as by phone and e-mail. Candidate will serve as a technical liaison between Park Systems and existing sales representatives and distributors. Candidate must feel confident to interact with highly technical customers; interaction may be both technical and non-technical in nature. The candidate must be a self-starter with good time management and communication skills.

Primary duties include:

  1. Prospect, follow up and qualify leads, and manage sales for direct sales accounts.
  2. Manage a team of sales representatives and international distributors.
  3. Manage sales funnel and monthly sales forecasts.
  4. Develop, implement and manage the strategic sales plans and specific programs in order to achieve business objectives and quota.
  5. The candidate will assist in the day-to-day sales activities of the regional sales managers and marketing activities including tradeshow exhibits, road shows, and other promotional events.
  6. Travel up to 50% of time both domestically and internationally in Americas.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Must have ability to work in a small company environment. Must be a team player with excellent work ethics combining diligence and discipline. Must have good interpersonal skills and customer focus with attention to detail. Must be able to communicate effectively with non-English speaking individuals (Spanish language proficiency is a plus).

Education/Experience Requirements:

Minimum BA/BS in a technical field preferred. Non technical degrees will be considered depending on experience. Experience in sales or application support of scientific instruments along with the knowledge of Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) is a plus.
